Tasks

The platform is responsible for the following tasks in relation to its discipline, i.e. chemistry:

• Dialogue with politics and society based on its scientific expertise
• Maintenance of cultural heritage for Switzerland
• Support in the promotion of young scientists in primary and secondary schools in co-operation with the «Platform Sciences and regions»
• Foresight of developments in Switzerland and in the international context
• Development of ethical guidelines for scientific activity and the application of scientific knowledge and insights
• Maintenance of international networks
• Creation of bridges to university institutions of Switzerland and private-sector companies that engage in teaching and research and/or apply the results of the latter
• Maintenance of contact and coordination with institutions which promote research, in particular the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Swiss Confederation’s innovation promotion agency (CTI)
